WHAT DOES AN INITIAL PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION LOOK LIKE?

During our first session together, I will want to get to know you, your goals, and why you are coming to therapy. I will go over important aspects of therapy including confidentiality, informed consent, my privacy policy, and my cancellation policy. I will help you understand the benefits and risks of therapy while giving you the space to share what has been going on for you. At the end of our session, I will give you an idea of how I think I can help, what therapeutic tools I plan to start with, and I will always work collaboratively with you throughout the process.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

I have a few slots available for sliding scale sessions. I offer sliding scale fees during daytime hours for those in financial need. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions about sliding scale fees.

HOW DOES BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT WORK?

Feel free to get in touch with me via phone or email. I aim to respond within 24 hours to answer any questions or to schedule an initial phone consultation at a time that works best for you. From there, you can decide whether you would like to book an appointment. Once an appointment is booked, you will receive a confirmation email along with all the session details you will need.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

Yes. Please note that clients will be charged the full session fee, as determined by the Psychotherapist, for late cancellations (within 24 hours notice) or no-shows. Clients will be asked to sign a No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy at their first appointment.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Typically, clients book a 50-minute session to allow for a 10-minute buffer period between sessions. If you would like to book a longer session, I also offer 75-minute and 100-minute sessions depending on the needs of the client(s). Please note that the same rate will apply for the psychotherapy session that you are booking. 

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES?

Psychotherapy services are not covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). However, many insurance companies provide coverage for psychotherapy services. If you have an insurance plan, I strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company to check your coverage.​

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I accept payments by credit card, Interac debit, or eTransfer.

DO YOU COLLECT HST?

No. HST is no longer required to be collected by Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario.
